September 1, 2009 - Here are the results of the First Annual GDNESO. The clear winner was DRAGONFLY submitted by Jim Gambaro from Belchertown. The second place was taken by DUCKLING, submitted by Rick Perez from Palmer, decided after a tiebreaker vote. Honorable Mentions go to WIRE FENCE, submitted by Cheri Fisher from Wales, and AUGUST SUNRISE ON SOUTH POND, submitted by Don Roberts from Brookfield. The Best in Show will receive a $100 dinner certificate from Mohegan Sun and a 30" X 40"wall mural print from Giclée of New England, Inc. The second winner will receive Nic Software Plug-in Viveza from Hunt's Camera and Video. Both Honorable Mentions will receive a $25 gift certificate from Giclée of New England, Inc.
Thirty-six pictures received enough votes to all be invited to be in a gallery show in the Giclée of New England Gallery from mid-September through the end of October. The reception will be held on September 26th from 4 to 7pm. In addition, Top Floor Learning will hold an exhibition of the work for the month of December as part of the Exhibition of the Month series. The show will be held in the Community Room, Palmer Public Library, from Tuesday December 1 to Wednesday December 30. The opening reception will be held on Saturday December 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is the responsibility of each artist to have their photos printed, framed and ready for hanging in the shows.
