LL10SAC01: BEGINNER BASIC JEWELRY BEADING
Beading is an economical alternative to buying costume jewelry at expensive department store prices. Now more than ever, Austrian crystals, semi-precious gems, natural stone and shell beads are available at local craft stores for great prices. Need a necklace, earrings or bracelet to match an outfit? Do you want to be able to create a necklace length that suits your neckline? Want to create special gifts for friends?
In this basic beading course, you will gain the “know-how” to create French ear wire, kidney ear wire and spring lever earrings; wrist or ankle bracelets, and necklaces with lobster claw, spring or toggle clasp closures. Upon completion of this two session course, you will have designed to keep, 1-2 pairs of earrings, an ankle or wrist bracelet and/or a necklace with your choice of clasp.
Learn the art of beading to release your creativity. Materials needed to make the aforementioned jewelry pieces are included in the material fee. The use of the instructors’ tools will be provided for both of the sessions.

LL10SAC02: HENNA BODY ART
Henna is an ancient beauty ritual used in adornment and healing and is practiced around the world. In this two-part class you will first learn a brief history of Henna, how it is made into the paste used for dying and we will review multi-cultural design motifs. Every student will receive a Henna tattoo. No needles are used, this is a strictly topical design. In the second class, students will learn to create their own designs, be shown techniques for applying Henna and be provided some time to practice this amazing art form! All materials are included.

LL10SAC03: MULTIPLICITY OF MITTENS
Even though it’s the middle of summer, winter will be here soon enough! Time to think about keeping those hands warm for the months ahead, with mittens! You can knit plain mittens, four or two needle mittens, double stranded or Scandanavian mittens. You may choose to knit elegant mittens, practical mittens, mittens without tops or convertible mittens. See samples of different types of mittens, construction techniques and fiber choices – wool, alpaca or cashmere.
Come and enjoy a few evenings filled with fun and knitting. Some knitting experience is required. In the first class we will discuss construction pattern, fiber and needle choice. In the second class you will begin your mittens and the last class will be spent finishing up your mittens.

LL10SAC04: THE MISTAKES CLASS FOR KNITTERS
Dropped stitches, forgotten patterns? Does your knitting make you nuts with boo-boos and mistakes? Well, here is a class that will help you to repair mistakes rather than rip it out! Come with a problem knitting project and you will be shown how to fix your mistake and when to decide if it’s time to rip it out and start again.

LL10SAC05: HAND-BUILDING POTTERY CLASSES
Students will explore handbuilding techniques such as slab-building, pinch and African coiling. African coiling is an ancient and unique technique developed in West Africa. In this class, focus will be on surface finish and surface decoration such as carving, stamping and glazing. Our projects will vary from tea pots, birdbaths, cups, pitchers, vases, flower pots, wall plaques, fountains, etc. Students are encouraged to explore their creativity and work with their own ideas. However, there will be a size restriction because pieces will have to be transported for firing.

LL10SAC06: MAKE A TABLETOP LABYRINTH
Mazes and labyrinths are not the same. Labyrinths have one path in and one path out (no dead ends). They are fun to walk when you find them out in nature such as St. Anne’s Shrine in Sturbridge… but they are also delightful to make with all the beautiful graceful turns that spiral inward. All materials are included (i.e. glue and stones). You will come, have a great time and leave with a tabletop labyrinth.

In this 6-week class you will learn the basics of knitting while making a scarf or mittens - you decide! Learn how to cast-on, knit and purl, and cast off. Denise will do the shopping for you! She will discuss with her students the type of scarves or mittens they want and purchase the yarn and needles for them. Students wanting help with finishing a project are also invited to this class.

This class is for healthcare professionals that need to be re-certified in CPR. This class is designed for professional healthcare providers such as EMT’s, lifeguards, firefighters, police officers, etc.
The course covers one and two rescuer CPR and choking for adult, child and infant. Participants will also learn to use barrier devices and Automated External Defibrillators(AEDs).
There is a short practical and multiple choice writer examination that must be completed to receive an American Heart Association CPR card.

The sole of the foot is a reflection of the entire body so as we care for ourselves by rubbing our feet, we increase circulation and lymphatic flow but we also encourage health throughout all of the organs of the body. What is a Will? What are the alternatives to a Will, and why is a Will sometimes not enough to get your affairs in order? These questions and others about Wills will be addressed in a workshop that is sure to be productive and informative. Attorney Elizabeth M. Dougal will lead a discussion about the benefits and drawbacks of a Will, including probate. We will examine many components of a well-drafted Will, including the naming of an Executor and Guardian for minor children. We will also look at the distribution of personal and household items under a Will, as well as who gets the “residue”, or the “rest” of your estate. One of the fastest growing consumer crimes in our country is identity theft. Most victims don’t learn that their identity has been stolen until something goes terribly wrong… their credit is ruined, they are in default of unauthorized loans, warrants are outstanding for their arrest, etc. On average it takes two years and about $1400.00 for identity theft victims to clear their credit and good names. This class will describe some of the ways thieves get personal information about their victims, what you can do to protect yourself from identity theft and what you need to do if someone steals your personal information.

Come see and experience what Line Dancing is all about. This will be a FREE demo and lessons. Line dancing offers low impact physical exercise; it’s great for the memory as well as a great social outlet. But most of all it is a WHOLE LOT OF FUN!!
What is line dance? It is choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows without regard for the gender of the individuals, all facing the same direction and executing the steps at the same time. These dances capture many rhythms and are choreographed to all genres of music. The participant will learn to dance to the rhythm of the Mambo, Cha Cha, Rumba, Waltz, Pop and Hip-Hop. LL10SPG04: ESSENTIAL BUSINESS WRITING SKILLS
This 4-week, 8-hour course will help students develop the fundamental writing skills needed to effectively communicate in a business setting. Models of standard business writing will be presented including letters, memos, e-mails, talking papers, bullet background papers and narrative reports.
Students will build on their current writing ability, develop new skills, and apply these skills in class activities that will use actual writing assignments taken from the business world. Whenever possible, writing assignments will be individualized to meet the objectives of each student.
Topics will include understanding the writer’s purpose and audience; pre-writing techniques; basic skills for constructing compact, unified and cohesive paragraphs; an overview of the structure, style and conventions of common forms of written communication; and editing work for spelling, grammar and mechanics.
After successfully completing the course, students will gain more confidence in their writing skills and will be able to complete writing tasks more easily and quickly.
