"I've been with Top Floor Learning for about 3 years and I've worked with 3 students during that time. I saw the advertisement for tutors in one of the papers. I had a serious illness about five years ago - this is all extra time for me. I feel too well to do nothing, but too sick to do much of anything physically demanding. Teaching takes advantage of the abilities and the energy I have. I've worked with computers all my life. I spent 11 years in the Air Force and then worked for Digital, Compaq and HP. I've tutored a lot of kids in the past. Math has always come easy to me - I had no idea it was such a problem for the average person. It's very rewarding to see people gain knowledge and confidence in themselves. Sometimes students don't follow through - it's tough to see someone with ability give up on themselves. There's a lot of satisfaction being able to help someone who needs it. I like working with the other tutors, too."
Paul works as a one-to-one math tutor in the GED program. He and Tom Camilleri co-teach Credit and Debt in the Financial Literacy program. Paul also works as a math tutor in the Bridge to College program with Donna Hick and Tom Camilleri.
