"My relationship with TFL began as a charter member during the preliminary stages of forming the organization. A decade of service with LVAQV provided an opportunity for me to appreciate the need for literacy advocacy. Being an ESL tutor and serving in a variety of capacities, I witnessed the growth of the organization through the efforts of dedicated individuals who truly understood the role of a volunteer. My involvement as a literacy volunteer has been an enriching life experience for me. At present, I am an annual donor, a participant in the lifelong learning courses, and I like to think of myself as an ambassador for TFL whenever the occasion arises. I continue to donate because I see TFL living up to its mission of providing literacy services and lifelong learning programs. The Bridge to College program is a "first" in adult educational opportunities and has proven to be a successful venture. Locally, my husband and I support the Palmer Public Library, Wing Memorial Hospital and Wilbraham & Monson Academy. We also support various other academic institutions. In a short period of time, TFL has an excellent achievement record and that is a testament to solid stewardship of my investment. Revamping the structure of LVAQV has made TFL a premier leader in adult educational opportunities and I consider it an incredible asset to the community. It is the envy of many communities throughout the state. "
