14th Annual May Basket Raffle Winners
 On Monday, June 1, 2009 at 12 noon, the winning tickets were drawn for the 14th Annual May Basket Raffle, held by Top Floor Learning. This year, 32 baskets were on display. Each basket was gorgeous and amply filled with a wonderful collection of items to please every interest - golf, cooking, eating, wine-tasting, gardening, and many, many others. Participants could place their tickets on the baskets they were most interested in winning. For the first time, tickets could also be purchased online at www.topfloorlearning.org. The final tally is $9,349 for ticket sales and an extra $400 in donations, for a grand total of $9,749 gross. After taxes and expenses, the net total is $8,433. The proceeds benefit Adult Literacy programs, which include GED, Basic Reading/Writing, ESL and Citizenship, Financial Literacy and Bridge to College. Thanks go to Barbara Benedetti, event organizer for Top Floor Learning, the Palmer Public Library trustees, director and staff for their support, and to all the basket donors who were so creative.
