Did you know that Top Floor Learning is unique? We are the only adult literacy and lifelong program in Western Massachusetts that is totally supported by the community. You may be surprised to learn that gifts from individuals, families, corporations, and foundations, as well as in-kind donations, comprise 80% of our entire income. Fees from the adult literacy program represent only 3% of our income while fees from Lifelong Learning represent another 16%.This priceless community asset has been in existence in the Palmer Public Library for over thirty years.

When you support Top Floor Learning, you are directly investing in individuals in their quest for education, opportunity and skill-development. Indirectly, you are building the health and vitality of our community.

Top Floor Learning provides focused, personalized instruction which is tailored exactly to the needs of each student. In the 2007-2008 financial year:

• 108 students were matched with a tutor (one-to-one and small classes)
• the English as a Second Language program held 3 Advanced and 1 Intermediate class
• 55 people took the 1/2 length GED test
• 173 Lifelong Learning classes were held, attended by 398 people.
• 100% of people who prepared at TFL passed the GED test.
• We also have a 100% success rate with citizenship applications.
• Twenty-four towns in the Quaboag Hills region were served.
• Two new programs, Financial Literacy and Bridge to College, were introduced for the first time.

We achieve our ambitious goals thanks to your vision, commitment and support. Thanks to donors like you, students who come to Top Floor Learning get the resources they need to build a better life for themselves by learning new skills, becoming more employable, gaining certification, becoming US citizens, and taking part in continuing education.
